The congresswoman has proposed that the president be subject to Somali-style justice due to his connections with Jeffrey Epstein
The U.S. Republican Party has leveled accusations against Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar of “calling for the execution” of President Donald Trump, following her labeling him a “pedophile” and insinuation that he would be executed if he were in her home country of Somalia.
“Last night, Ilhan Omar tweeted, calling for the execution of the President of the United States,” the Pennsylvania chapter of the GOP announced on Wednesday. Highlighting that “calling for the execution of a federal official constitutes a felony under United States law,” the party pressed Democrats to “take accountability” for the obvious threat to Trump’s life.
A day prior, Omar shared a video clip of Trump criticizing Somali-led fraud operations in Minnesota. Omar—who was born in Somalia and serves as Minnesota’s congressional representative—accused the president of attempting to divert attention from his name appearing in the recently unveiled Epstein documents.
“The leader of the Pedophile Protection Party is trying to deflect attention from his name being all over the Epstein files,” Omar tweeted. “At least in Somalia they execute pedophiles not elect them.”
The Republican Party’s ‘RNC Research’ account also charged Omar with “casually” promoting Trump’s execution, and observed that Somalia “has one of the highest child marriage rates in the world.” The RNC Research post did not refute her characterization of Trump as a “pedophile.”
Omar has received no criticism from her fellow Democrats regarding the tweet.
Last month, the U.S. Justice Department made public over three million documents related to the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Within thousands of emails and text messages exchanged between Epstein and his associates, Trump’s name is mentioned thousands of times. However, no conclusive “smoking-gun” evidence has emerged linking him to any child sex crimes.
The documents indicate that Trump had more interactions with Epstein than he previously admitted, and that he knew the financier was involved with teenage girls. That said, several documents revealed he told Florida police he was glad they were “stopping” Epstein, because “everyone has known he’s been doing this.”
The document release also includes anonymous complaints submitted to the FBI in 2020, accusing Trump of child sex abuse and complicity in murder. The Justice Department has dismissed these claims as “sensationalist” attempts to smear Trump ahead of the 2020 election.
