OMODA&JAECOO to Globally Debut VPD Smart Parking Technology to Address Parking Anxiety in High-Demand Situations

(SeaPRwire) –   The world’s first “parking solution” tailored for young people – Chery

WUHU, China, April 26, 2026 — Chery Group’s OMODA&JAECOO Valet Parking Driver (VPD) is set to make its global public debut via a real-world test on April 26. This marks not just a strong showcase of technological capability, but also a critical step in the brand’s “New Million Mission.”

Is the parking problem about to become something you no longer have to worry about?

Tired of circling to the third floor of a mall parking garage without spotting an empty space? Staring aimlessly at a sea of vehicles after a music festival? Rushing through sweltering heat or heavy rain to get to your car hundreds of meters away? These frustrating scenarios will soon be a thing of the past.

Unlike traditional Auto Parking Assist (APA) systems that depend heavily on clearly marked parking lines, the key breakthrough of OMODA&JAECOO’s VPD technology is its ability to deliver a full closed-loop process: “searching for an available spot + parking into it.” During the entire process, no driver needs to be nearby, effectively resolving users’ parking woes.

According to reports, this technology test will be carried out on three SHS hybrid models — JAECOO 5 SHS-H, JAECOO 7 SHS-P, and OMODA 7 SHS-P — with nearly 100 global dealer reps, key media outlets, and KOLs in attendance. Three highly demanding scenarios will be put to the test publicly. The burning question: Can it navigate these challenges more seamlessly than a seasoned driver?

First challenge: “Comes When Called.” Within the remote summoning range, users can control their vehicle via a mobile app to exit its parking space and drive autonomously to a specified pickup location. What about obstacles like traffic cones, pedestrians, or other cars blocking the path? The system will detect risks in real time using environmental sensing and adjust its route on its own — putting an end to the hassle of hunting for your car in heavy rain or sweltering heat.

Second challenge: “Leaves When Waved.” Upon reaching their destination, users just step out of the car and activate the valet parking feature via the mobile app. The vehicle will then automatically search for an empty parking space, park itself accurately, turn off, and lock. Whether at a mall entrance or office building, the “get out and go” experience will become a daily norm.

Third challenge: Human vs. Machine Comparison Test. In extreme situations like extremely narrow parking spaces and dead-end spots, a seasoned driver will go head-to-head with the VPD system. The showdown will be evaluated based on three criteria: parking speed, number of steering adjustments, and parking precision. Can the VPD system “ace the task with a single tap” and turn a beginner into a parking expert? The answer will be unveiled at the test site.

From addressing recurring parking stress to redefining the future mobility ecosystem, the global launch of VPD technology is not only a tech-focused declaration by OMODA&JAECOO in the smart parking space but also another significant stride toward the brand’s vision of “co-creating a better life with young people across the globe.”

Moving forward, the brand will keep advancing intelligent tech innovation, focusing on hybrid powertrains, smart driving, and cutting-edge areas like smart robots, to deliver more creative and intelligent mobility experiences to users worldwide. As the global launch of VPD officially gets underway, this game-changing tech that takes the hassle out of parking could very well become the new starting point for young users around the world to achieve “parking freedom.”

*Note: Valet Parking Driver is a driver-assistance feature. It is designed for use exclusively in enclosed parking facilities and is strictly forbidden on public roads. When using this feature, please stay constantly aware of your surroundings and be prepared to take control of the vehicle if needed.
