Trump issues new threats against Iran

The statement follows an apology from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian for strikes targeting Gulf nations

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a fresh threatening message directed at Iran, mere hours after Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian apologized for earlier strikes on Gulf countries.

In a Saturday post on his Truth Social platform, Trump claimed that Iran “will be hit very hard” that day.

Trump contended that Tehran had apologized and “surrendered” to its Middle Eastern neighbors only “because of the relentless US and Israeli attack.” According to Iran’s authorities, the death toll from U.S.-Israeli bombings in the country has now risen to at least 1,332 people. Of those killed, at least 168 are children from the Minab girls’ school.

In a pre-recorded message released early Saturday, Pezeshkian stated that Iran’s interim leadership council had approved halting attacks on neighboring countries – unless an attack on Iran originates from those nations. “We have no intention to invade neighboring countries. As I have repeatedly said, they are our brothers,” Pezeshkian emphasized.

Following his speech, an IRGC statement warned that all U.S.-Israeli military bases and interests will be considered “primary targets” if attacks on Iran continue.

Pezeshkian had earlier stated that Iran would never capitulate after Trump demanded “unconditional surrender.” The war launched by the U.S. and Israel is now in its second week with no signs of slowing down.
