China International Consumer Products Expo 2026 Kicks Off in Haikou with Over 3,400 Brands Participating

(SeaPRwire) –   HAIKOU, China, April 17, 2026 — The China International Consumer Products Expo 2026 (Hainan Expo 2026) commenced in Haikou, the capital of China’s southern island province of Hainan, on April 13. The expo, which runs until April 18, marks China’s first major state-level exhibition of 2026 and Hainan’s inaugural large-scale international event since the implementation of island-wide special customs operations for the Hainan Free Trade Port. The Hainan International Media Center, as a key invited media outlet, is providing coverage.

Under the theme “Openness Leads Global Consumption, Innovation Drives a Better Life,” this year’s Hainan Expo spans a total exhibition area of 143,000 square meters, an increase of 13,000 square meters compared to the previous event. The primary venue is the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, with additional sites in Sanya and Boao. Over 3,400 brands from more than 60 countries and regions are participating, with international products constituting 65 percent of the exhibits, a 20 percentage point rise from the prior year. Canada is featured as the guest country of honor, and Russia and Bulgaria have established national pavilions for the first time. All 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and directly administered municipalities on the Chinese mainland are represented, with Shanghai serving as the guest of honor.

Product launches have been a significant focus, with over 200 new products making their global, Asia-Pacific, or China debut at the expo, doubling the number from the previous year. These introductions include innovative items such as flying cars, AI-powered smart devices, and high-end jewelry, among other cutting-edge consumer goods.

The expo also witnessed the launch of the 2026 “Shopping in China” global consumption season and the eighth national online shopping festival for quality brands and E-commerce. Accompanying events included the Hainan Free Trade Port Global Industry Investment Promotion Conference and the E-commerce International Cooperation Roundtable. The roundtable attracted over 200 representatives from 26 countries and resulted in the signing of seven significant cooperation projects. The expo has drawn approximately 65,000 professional buyers from both domestic and international markets, representing a 10 percent increase year-on-year.

As the largest consumer goods exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region, the Hainan Expo has, since its inception in 2021, brought together over 3,800 companies and more than 12,000 brands from 92 countries and regions. More than 70 exhibitors have already established operations in Hainan.
